It is a tradition to have Christmas Eve dinner at our house. Honey, Sugar, G.G., Bob, Uncle Casey, Aunt Emily, Emma, Brad (Bob's son) and Doris came for the food and fun! Russell cooked all day to prepare a homemade feast and boy was it good!!! He made pot roast with potatoes and carrots, homemade loaded mashed potatoes, steamed asparagus and homemade rolls. He also made a layered pie for dessert and I made a chocolate chip cheesecake...yummy!! Everyone enjoyed dinner and dessert.

Brad is showing Sammy how his camera works...she has her mommy's blood in her! :o)

The highlight of the evening was hearing a knock at the door! Austin and Sammy went to answer it and found Santa Claus at our front door!!! Austin and Sammy were VERY excited to see him and gave him big hugs!! Lauren and Emma were a bit scared and did not want to get too close. Santa came for a special Christmas Eve visit and brought one present for each of the kids. He brought Austin some Transformers, Sammy got a Giselle Barbie, Lauren got a Cabbage Patch baby and Emma got a huge CareBear. After he left, we went out to the backporch and heard the bells on his sleigh when he took off!
G.G. giving Santa Claus a BIG hug!
Lauren didn't want to get too close...but she did want her present!
Emma absolutely loved her big CareBear!!

The fun part was the adults had a chinese Christmas gift exchange this year. Everyone was supposed to bring a wrapped $20 gift. We drew numbers and took turns picking a gift under the tree.
Bob opening his present. He got lottery tickets...and he was not about to let someone steal them either!
Sammy is helping Uncle Casey open up his present. He got a nice, warm blanket.
We finished off the night by setting out cookies and milk for Santa.
The kids also sprinkled some reindeer for out on the lawn so the reindeer could get something to eat too! It was cold outside so the kids sprinkled the food fast and rushed back inside!
It was a wonderful night filled with food, family and fun! We are truly blessed to be surrounded by those who love us!
