Mother's Day weekend was wonderful! On Saturday, I started the morning by taking breakfast and flowers to a dear friend, Ms. Virgina. She used to work in the nursery of our church and babysit for me often. She fell and broke her hip on Christmas Eve and the recovery has been loooong. I just wanted her to know that we love her and miss seeing her!
Later for lunch, I took Austin to Dave & Buster's at the Frisco Mall for a birthday party. It was great to have an "Austin & Mommy Day". My mom, Casey and Emma met us at the mall after the birthday party and we just hung out for a couple of hours. Austin got to ride the carousel, get a hot cocoa from Starbucks, play at the play area, get a cookie sweet treat and then Uncle Casey bought him some cologne! Austin had a full day! Russell and I had a "date night" that night. We had John Scarbro come and babysit. The kids just love him! Russell and I went to Logan steak house for dinner and we went to see the movie 10,000 B.C. It was a good movie. Russell and I really enjoyed the time together. We have not been on a date night in more than 6 months!
On Sunday, Lauren was not feeling good so Russell stayed home with her and I took Sammy and Austin to church. Russell instisted I take the day off and spend it with my mom and grandmtoher. He is so wonderful!! A day off is just what I needed! So after church, I met my mom and grandmother at La Madline for lunch. What a treat to sit and visit with them! My mom and I were able to go shopping after lunch. I am 16 weeks along in my pregnancy so I am at the inbetween stage. My clothes are starting to not fit, but my materntiy stuff is a bit too big. I was able to find some great things at Target and Kohl's. Woo hoo!!! Now I have something to wear to church!!
After spending time with my mom and grandmother, I came home for a Mother's Day dinner. Russell cooked out and made burgers. They were sooooo tastey!! I enjoyed the time with the kids. They made me some cute crafts and cards. They are such a blessing! I cannot imagine life without my little ones! God has truly blessed Russell and I!

Frontiers of Flight Museum
Their was a World War I & II plane exhibit at the Frontiers of Flight Museum by Dallas Love Field. My dad wanted to take Austin so we made a day of it and it was really neat!! Austin got to see a piece of history! My dad is a BIG history buff and can answer all kinds of questions!! It was neat to hear him tell Austin about all of the planes and about World War I & II.
a real spacesuit...
and other planes...
I found a couple of things that I liked too...an Aston Martin and Rolls Royce.
B25 Mitchell...
We got to walk through a B17 Bomber.

We got to watch a T51 Mustang fly. It was a loud plane and neat to watch a piece of history fly!
Austin got to meet members of the Tuskegee Airmen also known as the "Redtails"! WOW! The Tuskegee airmen hold a big part of history!! They were the FIRST all black flight crew to escort bombers in missions. They were known as the "Redtails" because the tails of all their planes were painted red. I teared up shaking their hands and thanking them for their hard work and sacrifice.

Austin got to see the Apollo 7 command module...

A Successful Soccer Season!
Austin and his team had a wonderful soccer season! Derek Mercer and Rebecca Williams were the coaches and they did a great job!! The boys played so well together and won all of their games! Austin did a fantastic job scoring goals! He is our Super Soccer player!
After the last game, we went to the Williams' house for our End of the Year Soccer party. The boys all had so much fun! We had a hotdog dinner and each of the boys got a trophy!
Our Family's First Major Injury
On Saturday, we were at a friend's house celebrating the end of the soccer season with a party for the boys. Russell and I were just about to leave when Sammy came running up to the house screaming and crying. She had blood all in her hair and her shirt had blood all over it. Austin told us that a heavy iron table top had fallen on her head. She was playing around a shed chasing a cat and must have hit the table top and it fell on her, pinning her to the ground. Austin and his friend, Gage, lifted the table off of Sammy and helped her get up. When I finally found the spot on her head that was bleeding I knew she would need stitches. So, Russell and I scooped up Austin and Lauren, drove them to Stephanie's house and took Sammy to Acute Kids in McKinney....LOVE THEM!!!! Acute Kids is an after hours pediatrician. They are open M-F from 5pm till midnight and from 12 pm - 8pm on the weekends. I take my kids there all the time because they are fabulous!! I am never there longer than 30 minutes and they are always so nice! The doctor and nurse were great and so patient with Sammy. She was throwing a huge fit (I don't blame her) while me, Russell and the nurse were trying to hold her down so the doctor could clean the area and give her a shot to numb the wound so he could put staples in it. Oh, it was sooooo hard for Russell and I to watch her scream in pain. I just wanted to scoop her up, hold her and give her lots of kisses!! In the end, Sammy had five staples and we were at Acute Kids for only 30 minutes!! Sammy has not complained about her head one time since we left! She has been such a trooper! We will go back in 10 days to have the staples removed. Russell and I knew at some point one of the three kids would need stitches/staples!
After 10 days, we went and got Sammy's staples out. She did have a bit of a fit while the doctor was trying to take them out...I really don't blame her. She clamed down after he was done and said that it didn't hurt. The doctor was so patient and nice. He put Sammy's staples in a box and told her that the Staple Fairy might come a visit her now. She got very excited about that and proudly showed her staples to everyone. We left her staples on the kitchen table for the Staple Fairy and in the morning Sammy found that she had a Little Mermaid for the swimming pool!! She loved it!
6 weeks after her head injury...Sammy looks great! The only time you can see her scar is if I put her hair in pigtails.
sad face...
Happy face...because she got a new Ariel doll!!

I took this picture and then Sammy insisted on seeing it. When I showed her the picture she said, "Oh, that is just awful! That must really hurt." I just cracked up! I said, "That is your head silly!" She just laughed.

It was worth the wait!!
I had ordered these beautiful pettiskirts in late September in hopes they would arrive in time for Sammy's mid-January birthday party. They said it would take about 6-12 weeks before I would get them. Boy were they wrong!! The factory got very overwhelmed and the skirts didn't arrive until mid-March...5 1/2 months after I ordered! So we will be having a half-birthday for Sammy in June so we can have fun with the skirts!

They were worth the wait because they are SUPER cute! I ordered 13 skirts all with different color combinations. The girls just love wearing them and twirling around.

WEE school Round Up 2008
Round-up is a BIG fundraiser for WEE school. This was my first year on the WEE school board and I helped co-chair the event. Round-up is always a western theme with a yummy Bar-B-Q dinner and a live & silent auction. Austin and the girls had a lot of fun. The girls got to go on the stage and sing songs....they were sooo cute!!!
Russell and I bought Sammy's class project quilt during the live auction. 100% of the money goes to WEE school so it was well worth it. I thought it was too cute...13 stars and 13 stripes!!
Sammy LOVES the spotlight...

Lauren is our shy one...

Sammy's Ballet Recital
Sammy had a ballet recital the night of Austin's birthday, Saturday, April 19th at 6:00. Honey, Sugar, Aunt DeAnn, Uncle Tracy and Mimi came to see our beautiful ballerina perform. She was so excited and love the makeup on her face. She looked just beautiful!
Showing mommy how she can turn.
Coming out on stage to wave hi before the performance.
Sammy and her class were so cute! They danced to the song "Cinderella" by Steve Curtis Chapman and "Butterfly Kisses" by Bob Carlise

Watching her dance just made me want to cry. She is such a sweet girl! I will remember this night forever!
