Van Alstyne Homecoming 2007

Russell and I took the kids to a their first Van Alstyne Panther Football game. It was homecoming last Friday night and I wanted them to see all of the fun stuff that goes on. The kids loved grabbing a hotdog, coke and cotton candy for dinner...quite nutritious I must say! They enjoyed watching the football players run onto the field to start the game and watching the cheerleaders. Halftime was fun too. We watched the homecoming queen ceremony, the bands perform and the cheerleaders perform. Van Alstyne does not have a drill team. When I first heard this I thought "WHAT? Are you kidding me!!!" I really hope that the high school starts up a drill team before my girls get there! I just think that drill team is a great way to express yourself through music, another way to "get involved" in school and maintain a group of friends. I don't care what my girls choose to do but it would be nice to have a variety of things for them to choose from! good grief! Is Van Alstyne old school or what?!
Autumn Hood, Jordan Griffin, Austin, Samantha and Lauren Samantha sporting her Panther PrideAustin & Jordan...they had more fun running around together than watching the game (of course)

Samantha & Lauren had a good time. I took the girls home after halftime. Russell and Austin stayed time the end of the game.Samantha making her famous silly face for a picture!
